“When we started this project one of the first things the core leadership team decided we needed to address was wanting to provide Isaac with a better sense of agency, and make him feel a little more relatable. While the end result has paid off, it’s all a consequence of consistency throughout production that MacMillan was surprisingly willing to delve into. “There are sequences and moments and arcs and relationships that build throughout the game, and Gunner does a great job getting into that pocket, getting into that tone, since I appreciate that some of those could have been challenging, but they all came out fantastic.” The final version may differ.“One exciting thing about our version of Dead Space in the remake is we had an opportunity to develop a little more emotional range with Isaac,” MacMillan says. Paintwork is done partially by hand and therefore final products may vary. Please note that images shown may differ from the final product. The opening hours for the Leaning Tower of Pisa are: > Spending more than a couple hours in the city? Browse and book these Pisa hotels and cheap hostels in Pisa. > Book a tour of Pisa before you go so you don’t miss anything If a visit to Pisa won’t be complete for you without climbing the tower, check in advance to make sure it’ll be open when you go. The Leaning Tower has been closed to visitors at various times as engineers worked to shore up the base, fearful it would eventually topple completely. It was noticeable enough that the builders even tried to compensate for it by angling the new construction differently than the old construction – if you look at the tower from the appropriate direction you’ll see it’s not perfectly straight on one angle. The ground beneath the tower was soft, and so even before the building was near completion it had already started to tilt. Besides, you’ve seen everyone else’s pictures of themselves “propping up” the Leaning Tower, why not have one of your own?Ĭonstruction on the Tower of Pisa, called “La Torre di Pisa” in Italian, began in 1173 and went on more or less for about two hundred years. Of course, if you try to convince your friends that you’ve seen plenty of leaning towers in Italy, if you haven’t seen the one in Pisa they’re not going to be all that impressed. This is one little fact the folks in Pisa would rather you don’t know, but it’s true. Pisa‘s famous Leaning Tower is simply the bell tower for the adjacent cathedral – cathedrals all over Italy have bell towers, and many of them are also leaning for one reason or another. But what I haven’t done is posted the most useful visitor’s information. I’ve written before about my experience visiting the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and even about how to avoid the lines by buying tickets to climb the tower in advance. Or for example, we can make a turret that can fire NERF darts and in combination with the simple but cool LED lighting that I already installed on this platform, we can have quite some fun playing with it.Īs for the suspension, I employed a Christie suspension system that’s been used in tanks for many years. With a robotic arm on top of the platform we can do various tasks like grab and move something, or we can put a camera to it and use it for visual inspection and so on. I hope I will in some of my future videos where I plan install a robotic arm or a turret. The robot platform drives quite well in mud and it’s a pity I didn’t have a chance to test it on snow. The tracks distribute the weight of the vehicle on a larger surface area which provides excellent grip and lowers the odds of getting stuck in soft ground, mud or snow. The best bet for that was to use a continuous tracks system. My goal for this project was to make a versatile platform that can traverse many types of terrains and can be used for various applications. |
